World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value. The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic. A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account. Armor A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor. You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with friends. It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells.
